Vineyard Notes:
Riesling is a cool-climate grape, one of the finest grapes produced in the Finger Lakes Region. To allow for the perfect amount of sun, leaf removal is performed only on the East side of the vine. The vines are mechanically cultivated throughout the summer to control weeds and control vine vigor. Casa Larga’s Reserve Riesling is produced from the original Riesling plantings – 30 year old vines.
Production Notes:
This wine is a blend of Rieslings - stainless steel and oak aged. Cool fermentation in stateless steel tanks is used to maintain the fruit and floral aromas and flavor of the wine. A portion of this wine is aged in oak – not for flavor, but for aging and weight. This wine is racked quickly after fermentation to prevent lees contact.
Food Pairing:
Ham or Turkey. Mild cheeses.
